Brick Lane’s City Spice named London’s Best Indian Vegan Restaurant

Brick Lane’s City Spice named London’s Best Indian Vegan Restaurant

Last night we were thrilled to be named London’s Best Indian Vegan Restaurant at the Bangladesh Caterers Association Awards

Considered to be the ‘Oscars’ of the curry-house awards, it was a fantastic night and was attended by more than 250 industry professionals representing British-Bangladesh caterers across the UK

Helping us to secure the award, earlier this year we launched Brick Lane’s first ever vegan menu. This resulted in a 170% increase in bookings in the two months following the launch – a huge boon for our independent, family run restaurant.

The Michel-Indian inspired vegan menu comprises 14 dishes and was perfected after the restaurant attended a culinary masterclass with Michelin-star chef Rupert Rowley in Sri Lanka.

We’re delighted to have been recognised by the BCA but that’s just the tip of the iceberg! Since its launch we’ve now sold more than a thousand vegan dishes, the cost of which has paid for the first year of our 19-year-old restaurant manager’s university degree.

This isn’t the first time City Spice has tasted success in the BCAs. In 2017 we won London’s Restaurant of the Year at the awards, while also winning Best Asian Restaurant at the Asian Curry Awards.
